He began his full-time songwriting career in the late 1990s after signing a publishing deal with Eaton Music Limited. In London\, he collaborated with top-tier performers before moving to Paris in 2001\, where he formed his own quartet and began performing regularly. Since relocating to the United States in 2006\, Wates has made his home between New York City and Colorado and has earned more than 50 songwriting and performing awards.\nHis music is an eclectic blend of acoustic\, melodic art/folk infused with elements of jazz\, vaudeville\, and cabaret. He has released twelve solo albums\, each earning critical acclaim and international airplay. His songs have been covered by artists across the UK\, Canada\, and the U.S.\, with two full-length tribute albums—Crazy Puzzle (2015) and Wide Open Heart (2017)—produced independently by other performers and composed entirely of Wates’ material. In 2016 alone\, over 20 cover recordings of his songs were released.\nIn 2010\, Wates released Joe’s Café\, a concept album of 15 original songs inspired by true stories of everyday Americans. He has progressed through ranks to become one of the senior teachers at the club before touring in a full-time capacity. Conor has been categorised as the one leading pipers in his generation as described by folking.com\, “In the week that we learned of the passing of Liam O’Flynn it was apposite to hear Conor Mallon leading the next generation of Uilleann pipe players.”\nConor was the first recipient of the ACNI/BBC NI Young Traditional Musicians Platform award and subsequently was a guest musician with the Ulster Orchestra and with the award winning Foden’s Brass Band. Conor is a Senior County\, Ulster and All-Ireland Champion on Uilleann Pipes in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and has won many other awards including the Uilleann Piping Scholarship by the Na Píobairí Uilleann Dublin in 2008 and was the first recipient of the Mark Donnelly Bursary for Uilleann Piping Award in 2010

DESCRIPTION:Suggested Donation $20-$25\nPlan on us being on the OUTDOOR STAGE!!\nRemember to bring your lawn chair\, beverages\, snacks\, repellent and sun block!!\nGALACTIC COWBOY ORCHESTRA was started in 2009 by founding member/bass player John Wright. The band was born out of a desire to play technically challenging music derived from John’s influences ranging from Mahavishnu Orchestra\, The Dixie Dregs and King Crimson\, to name a few. Wright enlisted the aid of guitarist Dan Neale\, who brought to the table many deep Jazz influences in his advanced playing and composing style. Along with the band’s first drummer\, Mark O’Day\, the beginnings of Galactic Cowboy Orchestra were found. Soon after\, violinist (and John’s wife) Lisi Wright joined the band with her aggressive “electric guitar player plays violin” style and engaging stage presence to complete the band’s sound and look. Fast forward 16 years: 6 studio releases (and one live)\, 3 Downbeat Nominations\, a Minnesota Arts Tour Grant\, collaborations with symphony orchestras\, thousands of miles of touring and the band is just getting started.\n2025 sees the GCO with a new studio release and a stronger than ever commitment to create the ultimate musical moment between the players and the audience with their Art Rock/Jazz Fusion creations.
