We are in for an absolute treat!!\nAnna\, Sheila and Clare Friel are traditional musicians born from the Doire na Mainséar\, Donegal in the North West of Ireland. Being siblings\, they achieve a close blend on fiddle\, flute and uilleann pipes interspersed with songs sang in unison\, many from their family and local repertoire. Born in Glasgow\, the girls credit their main musical development to frequent trips to Ireland to partake in workshops across the country\, many of which they can now be found as tutors.\nSince the launch of their debut album\, they have performed in various venues and festivals across Europe\, America and Asia and have appeared as guests on stage or toured with acts such as Altan\, The Chieftains\, Lúnasa\, Sharon Shannon\, The Máirtín O’Connor Trio and Cherish the Ladies. Irish Music at its very best.’ Charles Devlin\, Director Ireby Festival.\nI’ve been keeping a watchful eye on The Jeremiahs since reviewing their debut album in 2015. That album revealed them as a force to be reckoned with on the ever-vibrant Dublin music scene and was heavy with the promise of future delights. Since then there have been a couple of personnel changes. When I saw them at the 2016 Gate to Southwellfestival\, whistles and flutes had been taken over by Calum Stewart who also added his trademark Uillean pipes. For this second album\, though\, the line-up has been reduced to a core trio plus guests. The trio is Joe Gibney on vocals and stomp box\, James Ryan\, guitar\, bouzouki\, harmonica\, backing vocals\, and Jean-Christophe Morel on fiddle\, bouzouki and shakers. And as for those promised delights\, The Femme Fatale of Maine delivers them in abundance.\n\n\nIn 2015 Joe Gibney’s voice was already one that could raise the hairs on the back of your neck and over the last two years\, his vocals have grown in stature and confidence. Reflecting that\, the ten tracks of the new album include seven songs as opposed to the five song-five instrumental split of the first. An even more welcome shift is that five of the seven songs are band compositions\, songs with lyrics and arrangements that show a creative maturing of both the band and its individual members. Given that the only original song on the first album had been chosen by Christie Moore as the winner at the 2015 TradConnect Songwriter Showcase\, an enhanced focus on the band’s song writing was surely inevitable. Less of a certainty was that the new songs would equal it in quality\, at the same time exploring a range of styles and subject matter

DESCRIPTION:The Mullins Brothers – Biography\nWhen Stu and Sam Mullins formed The Mullins Brothers duo in 2012\, it was guided by one principle: play songs they love and that enthusiasm will be contagious. The results are an eclecBc set covering four decades of the best of pop-rock: everything from classic songs by The Beatles\, Carole King and Steely Dan to modern masterpieces by Wilco\, Ben Folds and Fiona Apple.\nStu is the lead vocalist and plays guitar and percussion. He was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of eastern Iowa favorites Dogs On Skis. In 2013\, he released his first solo album\, “Violet”.\nSam plays keyboards and contributes backing vocals. He is the principal songwriter and keyboardist for SBckman\, an original alt-rock band he formed with his brother Stu. Over the last two decades\, SBckman released three criBcally acclaimed albums and was twice selected to perform at the InternaBonal Pop Overthrow fesBval based in Los Angeles and Chicago.\nAlthough the duo primarily plays cover songs\, they also include a few original selecBons from their various recording projects.\nAs always please bring your chairs for seating as we are a House Concert venue and do not have permanent seating.
