Local Representative is a punky blues fusion band from Oshkosh, Wisconsin with a sarcastic sense of humor accentuated by their suits and schticks. Frontman Marcus honed his songwriting paying tribute to Bob Dylan, and his piano skills studying Ben Folds and Prokofiev. Utilizing synth patches and drums, Local Representative found their sound by mixing classic blues style songwriting and riffs with electronic grooves and noisy breaks. Jazz trumpet fills out the sound, trading solos and riffs with electric bass and guitar. Songs range topically from political satire to old fashioned blues heartbreak. Their sound has been compared to contemporaries Geese, and their live show is a bizarre and entertaining experience that audiences quickly catch onto and become invested in.
